When Camping Near A bear:

Anything with a scent is fair Game: store it in a bear big or hide in the car trunks. Never leave coolers in sight unless they’re outside and opened.

Don’t wash dishes or pots near you campsite.

Keep an eye on the people you with: make sure they’re putting their food and trash away.

Make lots of noise when you see a bear! Rwemember a bear’s interested in the food, not you.

Using a Film Clip

Choosing the right slip is a challenge. Pick a short captivating scene and show it as an opener, when class energy is high, or use tit to revitalize conversation later on. A clip provides concrete focal point for discussion and encourages interaction, especially when framed with a though-provoking question. Film is an exceptionally good conversation started because most people have strong opinions about what they have seen.

Most time’s while working on a dig you have a team of people that you might not have previously known.  Meeting new people can be excited and also horrible at the same time. Although most people you meet will be polite others will not, which causes stress especially while working on a team. An important thing to remember while working with a person like that is that everyone is different. Another important thing to remember is that sticks and stones may break your bones and words CAN really hurt you. If you get stuck in a situation like that the best thing to do is kill them with kindness. If your team decides to go to dinner after a dig or maybe take a lunch break, go together. It will include the whole group allowing time for everyone to get together and know eachother giving you a great chance for your group to befriend that person ultimately ending their rudeness towards you. You could also try complementing the person, yes, compliments, compliments, compliments(killing them with kindness) However be sure to keep in mind that only they can reverse their attitudes, but there are things you can do to help them(some examples given above).

“Only they can reverse their attitudes, but there are things you can do. People are motivated by success, so it may help if you provide bits of success that lead to note-taking and homework completion rather than focusing entirely on the bigger goal” – Kate Ortiz.

That is important for teachers to remember when working with students that may not have their full heart into it or are showing signs of giving up. You can’t change people but you can be their reason to change.
